This is great. As you suggest in this (sort of), I think the best way to start this is with post trial surveillance of drugs and procedures in the open source community. Over time, the legally defined “trial” could be pared back k is that the real test will come with post market surveillance. One could even imagine new drugs and devices NOT getting a procedure code until a certain amount of performance in the wild had been studied.
